Argentina Physician Believes Lionel Messi Should Miss El Clasico
Barcelona star Lionel Messi risks another spell around the sidelines if he plays the El Clasico against Real Madrid, Argentina’s team physician cautioned.
The Argentina worldwide continues to be sidelined since sustaining a knee injuries against Las Palmas on September 26.
There have been hopes Messi could be fit for that November 21 clash against fierce rivals Real at Santiago Bernabeu.
But Argentina’s team physician, Homero de Agostino, stated there is an opportunity Messi could face a level longer show if he performed.
“The chance of aggravating the injuries if Messi plays the El Clasico is high,” he told Cadena SER.
De Agostino stated he doubted if the 28-year-old could be to fitness prior to the very best-of-the-table clash.
“I do not believe that he is able to enter condition to experience the Clasico,” he stated.
“The coach cannot depend on the recently retrieved player.”
Messi continues to be excluded from the Argentina squad for approaching World Cup qualifiers against South america and Colombia.
